Download MuseScore 3.4.2 for Mac OS. MuseScore is a cross-platform freeware that primarily functions as a music notation application with user-friendly tools and a WYSIWYG interface. MuseScore for Mac lets you notate and compose music easily with your keyboard, your mouse or a MIDI keyboard. You can print the beautifully engraved sheet music or save it as PDF or PNG. You can play your score, transpose it, and save it as audio or MIDI file. The capabilities of MuseScore can be extended via plugins, and the growing repository on musescore.org contains many plugins submitted by users. MuseScore includes a set of sounds that reproduce common instruments (as defined by General MIDI) without taking up a lot of disk space or memory, but you can also substitute any SoundFont you prefer.

Many distributions release a package of MuseScore with each new version of the distribution. However, with the exception of rolling distributions like Arch Linux, MuseScore releases rarely coincide with a distribution release so these packages are often out-of-date.If you want to run the latest MuseScore version and get support from the MuseScore developers, we suggest installing an AppImage, however the distribution packages, even if older, are usually supported by the distribution’s package maintainers. Community images are provided by users for their distributions and have at best voluntary support.

Development builds
Development builds are produced from the code of MuseScore that is being developed. They are intended for testers and advanced users who want to experiment with new features, or need access to the latest bug fixes and are willing to risk the instability of an unfinished product.
A file saved from a nightly build may not open in a future nightly or any released version. Use at your own risk.
Please report any bugs you find.
